The Artist

Lorrie Priddle

Born in the small town of Otterville Ontario. Moved to Port Hope in 1994 for my work in the Nuclear Industry. I took up Tromple L'Oeil painting in acrylics and travel taught for years across the province on my weekends. Pieces were painted on designed heirloom furniture and sold throughout Canada and USA. In 2001, I decided to leave acrylics behind and took up the Old World Masters Style of oil painting. Sold many pieces in Canada, USA and Austria. I had a one woman show at Tillsonburg Station Arts Centre and was featured on cable tv. In 2016 I decided to try watercolors and love it! In 2018, I switched from oil to acrylics. I don't want to be pinned to one genre or style of painting and love to experiment with subject matter, although I specialize in wildlife art and animals. I've won two awards in 2018 in Pickering and Oshawa art juried shows and look forward to entering more shows. I'm self-taught but usually take two workshops a year with international artists. So far I've been taught by Ted Nuttall, Qiang Huang, Colley Whisson, Laura Robb and Tatianna Sink. I am currently experimenting in a loose tonal style of watercolor which is a freer looser wilder color format. I am a member of the Oshawa Art Association, Pine Ridge Art Association in Coborug, Eastern Central Ontario Art Association and Port Hope Friday Morning Group. I teach and hope to revise a new schedule in 2021 when things get back to normal. I've taught many retirement centres near where I live in Port Hope and have given many one day workshops. If you have a group of ten to fifteen people and a venue I can come to your location for a one day workshop. Thanks for considering my art and stay tuned for more new pieces to be posted.
